Even if you have loads of work in the diary it's still worth the contact as you can point the customer to someone else you trust to do the job. That way you're owed a favour and we all need favours back now and again.

Never really though about that before Missy, but do you find there is a niche for female trades? and if so what is the demographic so to speak?

Through the tile shops its allsorts really. But Ive often had to re do a botched job for a female customer done by a bully of a builder (their words). Its often been commented that they think a woman would be more reliable and tidy etc.
I do some work for an agency called Home Jane and all their trades people are female, most of the customers Ive been to through them are women living on their own, so theres definately a need for it. There are other agencies around the UK like Home Jane.
I had one contractor contact me because he was so p'd off by male tilers constantly being unreliable that he thought he'd try a female!!
