How Much SLC do you think I need

Can I use a fast set to level off then use normal set top of that.
It will be tilemaser stuff that says upto 12mm so on the level side it will be whatever a 10mm trowel creates but on the lower side it will be 10mm Plus the trowel depth. So if the fast set has gone off a little does that count as being a thick bed - too thick and lead to the below pul back.
My plan is to work on a couple of rows at atime so my the time I have done the first row the second row fast set has gone off enough to stand a little pressure of the trowel.
I don't fancy trying to use thick bed addy. Came across this when searching
you can use thickbed adhesive, but to be honest its not easy to trowel different thickness and keep the floor free from lippage, addy at differant depths can pull back when drying causing an uneven tiles

I can't advise you on specific products, only to say that yes it may be expensive, but if you don't get it flat to start with, in the middle of tiling, you'll wish you had levelled it properly and would gladly part with money to take the pain away! 😀

Well that's far too sensible for me even though I have been in exactly the same situation may times before - gladly paying the extra when i am in up to my neck in it.

Right I have a plan. I have rang tilemaster and I can use the thickbed in the way that I want which is to first lay it down flat to bring it up 10mm then when it has gong off enough to withstand trowelling and bedding I can use that again to lay the tiles on that side, then I can use normal set which I already have to do the right hand side as you look at the picture. I don't want to use the thick bed all over because I am not good enough to be quick laying. I will be using levelling clips.
Its never been asked before so they were not sure if it would shrink if I used a normal but quickset to 10mm then a normal set on top as it would still count as being over the 12mm recommended depth.

Are you going to be able to open your door with all that additional depth?
I have already thought of that- the door opens in😀
Slow progress today, I have only just got in after cleaning all the kit.
First I had to go out and get the deep bed then do some setting out and cut the first row, so only two rows down today -19 tiles. The fast set takes longer than I remember to go off so that slowed me up a little,I will factor that into my work tomorrow .
I wish I had gone with a sand and cement top up instead of SLC.
