Discuss how to build a bath panel in the UK Tiling Forum area at TilersForums.com.
yes its only as big as you want it you dont have to use the plaster board and yes i done it with brick tiles and even bricks slipswhat i mean is pj that you have created a removable peice of board ther as well that come off
i dont do that i leave the board fixed and cut a hole which is slightly smaller than the tile size and use the magnet system on the edges of the hole to fix the single tile
i can see the benefits of your bigger removable peice but say it was smaller tiles brick effect it wouldnt work do you know what im trying to say lol
well i am poor cant afford backerboard where it not needed and magnets lolI like the schluter magnets. I'd use a tile backerboard for the rest of the panel.
But you don't pay for it, the customer does. The kind of movement a bath gets, and the risk of it getting wet would always be backerboard for me. It would add less than a tenner to the job.well i am poor cant afford backerboard where it not needed and magnets lol
So there's no risk of a bath panel getting wet?how would the bath panel get wet ? if it did hate to see the rest of the house :yikes:
well i cant see how unless you you filled the bathroom up with water or stood there with a hose but most of it would run down the stairs i am not having a go at you just saying why use a product if it costs more when you dont need it its not a problem using it its better than plaster board but i always advise builders not to use backerboard on boxing only if its getting wet like a shower if its not use plasterboard imoSo there's no risk of a bath panel getting wet?
completely right mate,if it gets wet,its down either to the tiling failing or plumbing through mostly bad workmanship.well i cant see how unless you you filled the bathroom up with water or stood there with a hose but most of it would run down the stairs i am not having a go at you just saying why use a product if it costs more when you dont need it its not a problem using it its better than plaster board but i always advise builders not to use backerboard on boxing only if its getting wet like a shower if its not use plasterboard imo
