How's everyone doing?

I'm a 23 year old service engineer working in the Glasgow area looking to take a different career path and potentially work for myself (there's only so much of being treated like a mug a fella can take!)

I have a pretty decent standard of DIY skills but lack the all important paperwork to back this up so I'm open to all and any advice going before making a decision on where my future lies.

Welcome - difficult decision! This is a great trade, but it'll be a good few years before you'll have have a wage to match what you'd earning at present.

You'd be surprised. 1 bathroom a week would earn me more than I do working 45hrs! Hence the want for a change.

And when that 1 bathroom is all you have in a month it doesn't look so good!
You need contacts, money for advertising, overheads etc.
It'll take a while to get 50 bathrooms a year, and to get paid for all 50 bathrooms !

Money and contacts aren't a problem but as you say the work isn't guaranteed.
