I have to tile a 10sq.m. conservatory floor. The base is concrete, on that the builders will put a membrane, 25mm.insulation board, and 18mm of tongue & groove chipboard on top.
I understand that the main problem with wood bases is movement, which I understand to be the expansion and contraction with moisture in the wood? So if I seal the underside of the chipboard before it is laid, wait for it to dry completely, and then seal the topside, would that solve the problem?
I've had differing opinions about preparation of the chipboard and the adhesives to use, so some advice on that score as well would be very welcome.

So you are having a floating floor ?? I wouldnt touch it with a barge pole if that was the case.
Why not just screed it ?

OK, I get the message - FLOATING FLOOR BAD THING.
No harm done, it hasn't been laid yet.
So, concrete floor, DPC, 25mm of insulation board, then what?
Umm .... Thanks for the replies, no, really, I do mean it! Like I say, I want a proper job!
