Hi There

Anybody know why on the impey easy fit wet tray they say not to use an epoxy grout?

have you asked them why not ?

Because they assume you'll be using their Tilesafe membrane (Satan's Flypaper)
Epoxy will ruin the membrane.
Personally I just tape the joints / screw heads with Kerdi and Kerdi-Coll if I'm forced to tile those trays.

Never tiled one of these Aqua Dec and have one coming up.

Can you tile directly onto the shiny coated plastic'ish surface or does it need preparing?

Tiles need to go on top of a membrane. We supply Waterguard as a waterproof membrane. Tiles then go on top of this.

I fit one of these trays, used the homelux matting then Trav on top. Not too bad to fit etc.
