Indian Limestone

Hello

Need some help, we have just laid 90m of Indian limestone. Intended to use HG impregnator to seal, then a satin finish (Golv ). The HG went really dark and streaky on a test area. We changed to Lifothin which behaved and did not affect colour, but has sealed tiles so tight that they will now not take the Golv polish as this is water based ? Test area of wax works but takes three coats to get any depth of satin.

Any ideas ? Any other products?

Thanks

John

imo lithofin intensifier / stain stop is perfectly adequate and will leave the best finish on Indian limestone. I would not use HG golv...............

.

Thanks for that. The client wants a deeper satin shine, do you think another coat of the Lifothin would achieve this?

Thanks

John

LTP do a Satin Finish Sealer. I'm back in work tomorrow and will take alook at the specs. If memory serves me correctly, it can be used as a finishing coat over other sealers.

The problem with coating or topical sealers is their need to be renewed more frequently than ipregnating sealers.

Ltp mat stone or stain stop/ intensifier will be absorbed and protect the surface without creating a layer that can wear.

Indian limestone is an awesome look especially the black and increases in beauty as it wears, to use a topical sealer bypasses this look as the surface is periodicaly renewed............

I agree. If memory serves me correctly, the LTP Satin Finish is an impregnating sealer in its own right and can be used as a primary or secondary sealer.

wetsec is right the lithofin should be enough you r trying to get a popical polish to bond to a surface which you have closed down with an impreg sealer i dont think you will get it to stick and if you do it wont last long
