My wife bought me an ipod touch for my birthday last year, and i got it wet bringing it in from my van in the rain...Then i wouldn't work, i had only had it for around 3 weeks so i took it back to to Comet, and the said they needed to send it off to be repaired. A week later i get a phone call, its ruined and warranty wont cover it as it has water damage :yikes: they explained if you get any water on the touch screen i ruins them and warranty wont cover water damage, read the small print on the guarantee. So it has been sitting in the draw for 11 months, got it out today and thought i would try and plug it in and see what happens...left it a few hours and came back, and its working, had to restore it, and upload all my music and its working a treat again....whats that all about

i've had that with a couple of phones, as long as it isn't salt water and the battery is cut off as soon as it gets wet most electrical items will be good after a complete dry out. I got an Itouch about the same time and have just got the iphone because I got on so well with it.

All mobile phones have a little strip in them that can tell if it's been water damaged (the guy who invented it is worth a packet now!) All most all phones have them buried deep in the phone but the iphone has it around one of the input jacks so can be activated by sweat which is a bit pain as Apple will say it's been water damaged even if it hasn't:thumbsdown:

After i had taken it into Comet, somebody told me to put a piece of white paper in the hole where the jack plug goes, because if they get wet it goes red then take it back... shone a torch in there and it had gone red, but OK now
