in 1960 3% of the population attended , now its 43% , are the goverment trying to hide the numbers of unemployed kids by sending them to uni :smilewinkgrin:

Iye, and so many are coming out with letters aftere their name for doing 6 hrs of lectures a week and having to take jobs not related to their degree. What a waste of time and money, in my opinion.
I think all degrees should have a focus on providing professionals jor jobs that exist, be that whatever....even a trade......
No one should go to university to delay employment for 4 years or to get drunk a few more nights a week, although they where 'perks' of my 5 years in further education.

Was mine a waste of time and money? I think not but others may disagree.

I know a few guys who have degrees and it's got them nowhere, perhaps a uni for common sence might be beneficial

Uni is far more accessible nowadays, and I think that is a good thing. When I was a kid it was mainly the rich kids that went to Uni and the working class went to factories or apprenticeships, nothing wrong with having a noble trade, but I'd have liked the chance to have chosen wether or not to go to Uni.
