hi davey, cheers for the info mate, customer hadnt decided on what u/floor heating he wanted mate,,but now you mention it i wasnt aware only certain wattages were adequate for use when tanking ,what is the correct wattage? i kept it to what i would normally charge as there was also the prospect of other work of the same customer had i done him a deal......ive heard that one before, what i thinks happened is someones going to go in there and not bother slc the floor also probably wont tank anythin just plain old tiling and has kept his costs down due to this

I think the wattage depends on the tanking system kitty..i tend to use impey system which is limited to 100watts, anymore and there is a risk of the tanking melting, etc if ufh is laid on top of it..most of the ufh i use is in excess of this.. If i'm laying ufh, i tank the tray area (plus enough to include the glass screen if one's being installed) but don't put ufh on it..hope that makes sense:thumbsup:

does your 'client' know your price included costs for slc, tanking, ufh, sparky?..i can't see how anyone can make money by going in cheaper and still be able to guarrantee the work...

price looks a little on the cheap side to me by my calc tiling alone should be around the 600 to 650 mark without anything else sounds like your customer is looking for an early chrissie present:yes:

I would agree that the price is a bit low,and the customer is after a knock down price.Pound to a penny he will be back on the phone to you a short while after he gets the job done at a knock down price by someone,Asking can you go and sort it out as the UFH has blown and their is water ingress everywhere.
