Thanks you guys and gals you've been very complimentary, even more so about the mitre, I always cut the mitre first, file to get it right and then cut the length but that's the carpenter in me:lol:

very good, Interesting the way you leave a gap between tile and trip. not seen that before looks good.

I take it you mean trim mate?
I thought everybody did it like that? please tell me they don't and i'm a trend setter:hurray:

It's only I was taught to do it like this

I think the way you have done it looks great with these 10x10's. Kinda frames the tiles you could say.

that's maybe why then, I was never taught so I just make it up as I go along :lol: I just do things in a way that I feel looks best.

I've read on here how you guys are taught to centre a window and i do sometimes but only if it doesn't throw out my cuts at the wall. i'll post some more pics later of another kitchen i've just finished where I couldn't make my mind up on the setting out, so I'll let TF decide if I was right or wrong
