Hey all, Its probably a bit of a random question but when you take pictures of jobs what camera is best? Ive done a few small en suite bathrooms recently and when i take a photo i can only fit in a section of wall, so you cant get a decent idea of the finished product. I guess i need a wide angled lens... Do i phones take a decent shot?

Lol, nice one! In the real world we work mostly in small bathrooms so you just got to do the best you can. It's interesting though, you watch those adverts on tv selling suites, they are allways pictured in massive rooms with loads of light, this is what sells it to you! U subliminally think you are buying the "room" not just the suite!

a cannon g12 powershot has a wide angle lens built in and you can adjust the apreture and shutter speed for better pic i use that or my slr with wide angle for decent pics of jobs , i am into photography so i dont mind spending money on things like that, you can get decent wee camera on ebay that will take a decent pic

Just get a half decent camera with a wide angle lens. Don't have to go crazy £180-£230 should be fine.

I wouldn't spend more unless you want to go down the DSLR route but then you need to be thinking £750+

Mid range cameras between the £300-£600 mark don't seem to offer much more than the £250 point and shoot and don't deliver anywhere near the entry level DSLR's at £750+ IMO

the angle you take the photo has a lot to do with it. Try taking the photo from low down angled up or sometimes i find myself standing in a corner with the camera high above my head pointing down.

all these bathrooms I did were small but still managed to get the room in

Also keep in mind that close ups can do just as well

good work fella, im missing a trick, i do decorating and tiling and have done some beautiful places in the past, although obviously they were dog rough untill i waved my magic wand of creation upon them, and have yet to put a video presentation together, totally need to do it. youve just inspired me, gonna raid my sons piggy bank and get myself a decent camera, heck, he probably nicked it all out my wallet anyways.
