Johnson wall tiles

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

There are 2 sizes of separate tile in a different white in Johnsons general imperial 6" format - 143x143 and 152x152 ( I think those are correct) and a while since I used any so have forgotton the type names. Certainly the ones that end up at colleges prob get mixed up since at first glance they are 'generally' 6x6".

had the same....I seem to remember them being a lot better years ago😕 ..maybe a different factory these days?

I agree Jamie, Johnsons did used to be good for size. Better than Pilks, but that was a long time ago:thumbsdown:

Have to disagree with you Phil - I don't think that they were ever good for size - unless you compared them to Candy tiles!
I think we remember how good they were because there was only 3 other manufacturers and until the continental tiles came along there was nothing to compete with.
The Johnson tiles I fixed last year had faults in the glaze/size differential/colour variation and were made in the EU. - so whether that was Stoke or Greece I couldn't tell where to send them too.

A lot of Johnson tiles aren't even made by them they are just shipped into the country and re-branded or so one of thier Reps told me

Ive fitted 1000's of meters of Johnsons tiles last year and sometimes the difference between two tiles in the same box can be 2mm.

A little frustrating as a simple room can take that little while longer to do which = you earn less.

But, such is life 🙂
