Hi There.

A local supplier has just started stocking the Keracol H40 Eco Ideal.

It's big attraction is it's use on anhydrite screeds.

Has anybody had a bash with it and what there thoughts were.

How it combed, stayed in the bucket, did they prime, etc.

Possibly using it on a wet ufh anhydrite 155m2 floor coming up and don't want a pallet of some 'difficult' adhesive.

Cheers

Kevin

Not tried it Kev but there are a few negative posts on the forum about it if the floor is sanded and dried out just prime it well and use a good qaulity spf ,i thought you and Rob were Benfer men they do an ahydrite adhesive

I used it just under 2 yrs back and it failed to set ... IMHO it's a bag of crap.. and ZERO back up from kerakoll.. i was left to clean the job up and re-lay membrane... be very careful of the info supplied by reps that know bot all...

It is basicly a dispersion adhesive in powder form, hence why it is friendly for anhydrite..

I've used the n c gypfix up to know and fingers crossed not a problem.

Have heard the odd distant grumble about Benfer gyps and it's not stocked local.

Do like to hear about new products that i can get hold of locally at least to have as a back up. i.e. n c gypfix selling out for about 6 weeks recently.

It's quite a dillema wether to try something new though.

now then gary

benfer gyps is not a flexi so no good over gypsum on wet ufh (as you know mate)

I have been using n and c gypfix to lay ditra then benfer cement c2 on the ditra to tile.

personaly i am sick and tired of tight customers who wont entertain my advice re gypsum over wet ufh, and stupid screed pourers who just lay the stuff with no regard or briefing to the client.

I'm looking into issues with a screed at the moment in East York.

The screeder is Screed Flow Ltd from Hull.

Just asking lol...

oh and that job Al , we were both chatting to customer on here , is a customer of yours.. did she ring you today.?

If it's who's think it is I have a voicemail from her that I need to return in the morning.

H40 Ideal would be an ideal solution for fixing with. Also you can have a full site specification written from your local kerakoll representative. This will take the any worry you have out of the job.

Hi John.

If there is a problem or failure after a full site specification from the local rep would Kerakoll accept responsibility.

This isn't aimed just at Kerakoll i would ask other reps as well.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Yes the spec would be like all other specs and providing its followed full support and back up. We'll even do carbide testing if its required

How long can you hold your breath

Unfortunately Dave had a problem many years ago with a very poor previous representative who from what i can tell didnt provide anywhere near good enough customer support. Your OK your in my area so you can look forward to many coffees, bacon butties, specifications product demos and second to none back up and support.

I know lads on a big job in Chester, a BMW garage with 1000's of m2 tiling.I was asked to go out too but I'm too busy.Who is supplying adhesives, grouts, gas membranes, primers, levellers etc??Kerakoll.I hope they have improved Dave but I have been using the Tenaflex and marmorexWith no problems.25kg bags too go the distance.

18 mnths ago John... not years ago.. but maybe a bacon buttie will put it all right

I have not dissed any other kerakoll product.. just ideal h40 for anhydrite..

Talking of adhesives too, I seen a cheap brand getting roasted on a floor with wet UFH only 48 hours after I tiled it with a slow set SPF.
Did the tiles blow? Nope.
I couldn't believe it myself, there is quite a few damn good adhesive maufacturers out there now.

April 2010 ... either way when ever it was is no excuse for poor service.... I can assure you things have moved on and progressed a lot the last 18 months... not that that helps you out much i know...
