Does everybody charge day rate for 5sqm (ave) kitchen. If so how long? 1 day tile half day grout? or min charge of £200

what are you putting on? if its 100mmx100mm then thats 500 tiles around windows and sockets, i would allow 2 days at £150 plus materials so £300 plus,
if they said no then i walk politely away

I agree, all depends what you are fixing, how many sockets etc.

its 3.6 sqm 10x10 black/white in diamond with some bloody stupid cuts. I was thinking of£325

you are in the right money there groucho, but if materials cost you more than £25 then its low, keep the day rate at £150 minimum plus whatever you buy

£150 per day, at two days work, plus materials. I generally do a deal on the second day, as your actually not there all day, so this beats off the compatition.

are you just tiling the walls in the kitchen, 3.2square meters ? 2 days? are you just a beginer and is there actualy ppl out there who would pay you 325 to tile 1 small kitchen, im not trying to be cheeky or anything but they must be mad

if you are a professional tiler who always does an excellent job then people will pay you, 3.2 mts in a kitchen is 320 tiles if they are 100mm x 100mm, windows and sockets slow things down, removing plinths under cupboards if fitted to get a proper finish and trimming take time, if you are charging less than £150 a day plus materials scottish tiler then you are too low, take out your van running costs, tax, overheads ( yes you have them too) and if your around £100 a day then your losing money because after expenses (not materials) you are earning about £75 - £80 a day...a decent tiler is worth more than that, just to comment on what fred said where can you go at 2.30 in the afternoon, i start work at 7.30 every day and most people do to, charge for the day fred not the hour, if your there at the house for two days its two days money................right, can someone pass me a ladder? i need to climb down off this soapbox and i'm only 4ft 2"

i know what your sayin m8 i know ppl charge different amounts and all that but im just saying 325 or even 300 is way to much, i mean were talking about a days work here at the most, well i would consider it a days work but like i said i know ppl charge difo amounts so i dont want to get into a debate or anything lol

no problem, did i mention i have an ex wife, the present wife and 14 children to support ( only 3 beautiful girls really) kinda makes a difference to your day rate
regards

lol , aye a dont want to make enimes or nuttin im just here to try and help out and i wasnt tryn to sound cheeky or anything

I have to say that I disagree. 320 essentially mosaic tiles on the diamond with alternating colours cutting round sockets and windows, along with the additional grouting time (and extra grout) takes longer than 3.2m2 of 200mmx200mm straight set, and should be priced accordingly.

I think people are happy to pay a good price for a good job. Maybe you are based in an area where there is a lot of competition and possibly would not be able to charge that much.

a little steep in my opinion 2. I would be charging around £200 + mats and be in n out in a day
