Hi. Just tried to take up vinyl in kitchen(very difficult). Its on 6mm ply. I know i should be overboarding with 12mm but can i just leave it down and double up wiyh 6mm? Advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Kev.

I would persevere kev and take it up...Best not to cut corners at this stage of the job..

I use nothing but hardibacker now kev....much much more moisture stable than plywood......as long as your substrate is solid, then no probs at all..

Hi kev...

Substrate is your original floor base.

Yes you stick hardi down with flexible adhesive and then screw it down every 200mm..

The hardi sheets do have suggested fixing locations on the face of the board..
