first of all welcome mate and secondly well too chaep 9 times out of 10 i do kitchen splashbacks and would say if i would charge £350 minimum and am sure alot of regulars will agree but final choice is yours

Just for a bit of comparison Frogman, I have this very day delivered to a customer an estimate for a simple splashback with those very same tiles, less that 2m2 and only 5 sockets, onto plasterboard. Price...£197.50! Estimate accepted.

Theres no denying that is a good price but it asks the question could the price be relative to a larger area say it was 6m2 could you expect £ 592.50 ? I think the low area to be tiled makes it a good price.

Tom

Of course, I think it is a good price and I feel a fair one for the job. 6m2 in the same tiles would not be priced quite the same way because you will probably have more plain wall area to cover, but with these heavily bevelled tiles you need to take a lot of care with lipping and where the cuts need to end up. I am of the opinion that cuts should really be on the 1/4, 3/4 if possible to reduce the difference in thickness around edges, corners and tile trim if used.

A friend of mine has these very same tiles and the person that had done the tiling has had 1/2 tile and full tile stuck up to a 9mm trim, can you imagine what that looks like. YUK!

I will be taking great care with the job and my price reflects that.

Aye as grumpy says, doing a larger area then the odds are your going to have more plain walls to tile so that extra could be a lot quicker to do compared to the smaller splashback with all the sockets.

As for price, I'd be looking at roughly £200 plus mats

thanks for all the input folks as some have mentioned the first part of the splash back that I have already finished has taken care of ALL the sockets so the remainder is mainly flat bare areas. The only bit that worried me was the rest of the window and around the door.

Spoke to the customer today and quoted £250.00 + materials and she accepted.

I was doing similar to this today, tiles were 76*152 (I hate these tiles), Layed 3.5ms/q in a utility room. Above worktop, window, sockets and door returns + 2 boxes! All trimmed! :hurray:

Will have to grout tomorrow, charged £160 after expenses, considered this a good price but she has 2 other floors to do hence price.

Regards
