the hood has a curve how would at metal splashback look?
or should i tile up to it or do you think take it of and tile all the way up to the ceiling
the customer has went for the brickbond red tiles by the way

we have decided on a red brickbond but the hood is curved so a metal splash would look daft
i was also thinking about tiling the pipechase aswell thoughts?

yes i would remove hood and tile right up then re fit if possible

I have decided what tiles im going with but when i asked what tile trim to use tile giant
didnt want to recommend any because of the bevelled nature of the tile any ideas?
Im using letterbox belevelled tile fixing brickbond.

there's no way of avoiding problems with the vertical trim when using these tiles brick bond due to the variances in thickness of the tile. you may get away with the horizontal if you're going up to a full tile

Hi Paul, these are beveled edge I know you can't tell from the pcs. You have to split the diffence, I used a L shape brushed aluminum trim.

If you keep the half / cut tile flush with the trim, and just let the full tile sit slightly back. That is all you can do, unless you have all cut tile against the trim, in which case you still get the beveled edge showing low on the trim. Hope this makes sense.

i haven't used those tiles for a few years now, a few customers have wanted them but i've told them about the problems you get with the trim and they've plumped for other tiles instead. they're nice tiles but that's the downfall with them

You have the option to mitre external corners as well..

That is an option Dave, I had almost forgotten the hours I spent doing mitres, after they stopped making RE/ REX etc, and before we had trim, or good electric cutters that can do spot on mitres. The hours I spent back edging the tile with a pin hammer, and then finishing with a Carborundum stone. Progress is a good thing.

Try to reduce the thickness of your siliconing, IMO it is a tad heavy..
