Hi guys

I am fairly new to this site and am looking for a little advice.

I've been asked to tile a kitchen, between worktop and units and they have a castellated cornice around the underneath of the units.

Would you tile around the cornice or try and remove it and cut wher it meets the wall ?

Just wondered what the concesus of opinion was.

Cheers

Allan

You are at risk of damaging the cornice and units if you want to remove/refit them. I feel it may well be quicker just to cut slots in your tiles and fit that way. Only my opinion though, others on here may say something different.

P.S. Welcome to the forums. Would you like to introduce yourself to the rest of the members in the New Members forum?

I take them off and re-cut to fit , much neater finish........I use a Standard size hacksaw with a good quality blade in and it leaves a lovely cut finish......takes mins to do and looks better..........

If you do happen to break open a joint then sand down the joint and use mitre-fix and re-glue....but i very rarely break them....
