quick draw macgraw

Hi ,

Bought some kneepads from aldi or lidl ( cant remember which one both seem the same to me ) called workwear for £7 but the strap goes around the back of the knee and over two days have nearly cut my legs off.
Although they were better than not having any i wouldn't recommend these although they were cheap. I was thinking or getting some old combats and cutting the strap off the pads then sewing them to the trousers. What do the rest of you use? I have seen some trousers in screwfix with pockets on the knees for foam inserts but at £40 trousers and £7 inserts not cheap.

Steve.

p.s i have a mitre block and i have to cut some metal trim on next job but my hacksaw wont reach the bottom to cut does anyone recommend a saw and if so where to purchase.

Cheers again Steve.

DON'T SCRIMP on your knees - ever!!! Your body is your most important tool - look after it. Some of the guys on here will tell you just how knackered knees can get without decent pads!

I use Snickers trousers with decent pads inside, sure they cost a bit but they will A) hopefully keep me working longer. B) be cheaper than a knee operation with time off etc. C) look professional (?)

Armadillo who sponsor this site also make really good trousers for internal pads but I 've not tried them yet.

As for mitre boxes - try a local timber merchants. I picked one up for £2 and it's perfect for tile trim.

Yeah your right mate my knees feeling a bit nacked even with these pads on will invest in some better ones after this job prior to next floor job.

Thanks Steve.

No worries bud! You'll notice the difference, believe me!

(Don't let the missus tumble dry knee pads whilst they are still in the trousers - I did:mad2:)

Thanks for all the advice, one more thin. When cutting externals around wall and into window with the trim rising up the wall to meet and you get some protrusion what does it look like when filed to blend? I have done this with plastic and its ok especially when using white grout as well but these are silver trims.
Should i leave alone or file them?

Steve.
