Everyone using them these days?
I quite like the measures but finding a quality level for a reasonable price is quite tough(well, I'm looking for some recomendations to change that). I don't reckon they are that accuate but are pretty much made for us guys setting out/marking out etc (rough ideas, quick look around) but can't justify spending a fortune on one for anything other than a rough guideline.
What you think?
Anyone use one to do a final markout?
Brand and price?

Yes - I have been using one for 2 years. Bought mine from David at Trade Tiler - Autocross Laserliner 3 - cost £233.00 with pole. Not cheap, but by far the best extra piece of kit I have ever bought. David did extensive research & testing before he decided to stock this particular model - very accurate - laser line is very thin compared to some cheper models - eg Stanley. Quick and easy to set up and adjust height on pole - self levels in a matter of seconds. I use it on a daily basis for setting out & line checking. Never had a problem with it.
Phone David and ask his opinion - he is not in the business of selling dodgy gear just to make a buck.

Ahhh that the better gear I'm talking about. You must be pulling a fortune mate? Not as slow in your neck of the woods as has been vocalised in others ah?
I might as well get a check out from you on best hole cutters, this triangle thing is ****e and these T bits don't last 2secs. I'm looking for a set to get me going and last a while but not to go too mental as my addiction to buying stuff is getting out of hand and my lass is wondering if were gunna make Kenya next year, lol. Not to mention this years hol, that could end up in Blackpool if I keep spending!
What you reckon?

Probably the best you can buy are Armeg PTC - A Starter kit will set you back around £200. - this will get you a few guide drill bits 6mm & 8mm and also a couple of crowns for the 2 standard sizes of shower pipes - also a water feed atattchment & water pump bottle. These are absoultely the best on the market and are guaranteed for 100's of holes into porcelain - then when done for porcelain will last forever on ceramics.
The gamble is - you could spend around £100 on a set for ceramics - I have a decent Rubi one - but then you are snookered when you need to drill porcelain.
The way to get you money back is to charge £10 or so per hole for the porcelain -
It may be worthwhile looking on e-bay for the Armeg sets - there is a shop selling them - you could probably get a better kit for a fraction of the price.

Have a look at Armeg PTC Porcelain Tile Cutter for the range

I like buying toys that make my life easier - SAVE TIME & MAKE MONEY

Also have one of these - Senco Duraspin DS275 18 VOLT Collated screw gun - not cheap at around £300 - but my oh my does it fire in those screws fast, when over-boarding floors. Again I still charge the going rate for over-boarding , but it takes a fraction of the time. Have made my money back easily

P.S

iF YOU JUST WANT A COUPLE OR SO DRILLS FOR CERAMIC TILES - AGAIN SPEAK TO DAVID AT TRADE TILER - THINK HE SELLS THE RUBI ONES A SEPERATES

Well I officially hate you, not only does your mrs on the pic look pretty good but the screw gun takes the buscuit mate. I saw one of those on 'Black Hawk Down'.
I'm a bit of a gear freak myself and usualy buy what gunna get the job done to the best of my and its capabilty. I spend a fortune on rock climbing gear I never use because its just so one in a mil chance I'll need it. I can't go down the spending mental amounts on this game until the dosh starts hitting that bank account in a 'more than surviving way'.
Its gunna be Cer and Por for a while until I get my natural eye in on the job.
What mixer do you have? or mixers as the case will most definately be!

can't remember the make at the minute - will find out for you -foreign one - got from my local tile shop - a steal at around £97.00 incl vat. As good as the more expensive makes. Very powerful
I must admit my tiling gear and extras run into the £1000's now. I balance this out by running a cheap van - a Vauxhall Atsra 1.9 tdi N Reg - only cost £600 two years ago - 132000 on the clock - starts every time & reliable. A bit scabby in places, but would rather have a cheap van with good tackle than buy a new van on the never never and not be able to afford my toys. All my gear is paid for. :)

Leatherface, i have said once before somewhere on this site that i thought we were cloned, and once again you give me reason to believe this! I spend a fortune on equipment. Most of my gear is all hilti stuff, which is probably the best on the market. Recently bought automatic screw gun with extension pole, you dont even need to bend down!!! Unfortunatley my autocross laser came to a sad end last december when it came a flying from its nest about 2 meters high. sent it for repair, pendulum bent, bummer. What did i do, went and spent 350 quid on a hilti one,P.s.the screw gun set up was 540 quid:embaressed_smile:
