before splashing out on the pole, would the magnetic holder work on my plasterboard props? (they're metal)

The magnet is strong enough to hold the level on the wall on metal studwork even after it has been boarded! It works with any pole but the specific Dewalt one has fine vertical adjustment on the holding plate so is quicker set the height

Stabila does a model called the LAX 50 (a cross-laser level) which is around £100 and is accurate to 0.5mm/m. This is on a par with the best spirit levels (also manufactured by Stabila).

The beauty of this kit is the tripod it comes with collapses down and can be made into a floor to ceiling pole with mount too. No need to buy separate items which can easily come to another £100.

Have just bought one so will post a quick review when it arrives (today).
