Doug, its a pretty strong magnet and sticks to plaster beads (thanks for that Whitebeam)

Im sure i read somehting on a previous post about the Tradetiler pole being compatible? Maybe a call to Dave will answer that one?

I thought that if I extend my pb props up to the ceiling, I could use these instead of buying the pole. I suppose I could get the Mrs to make an adjustable bracket at work though:smilewinkgrin:

The magnet is strong enough to hold the level on the wall on metal studwork even after it has been boarded! It works with any pole but the specific Dewalt one has fine vertical adjustment on the holding plate so is quicker set the height

that is the one i have doug.
i would recomend the bm1 to go with the staff, it allows for fine adjustment

well the BM1 sticks to my plasterboard props great, and that got me thinking. The metal shelf racking, screw it to a wall and and it gives a more stable base to set your level on and easy to slide it up and down to the height you want

Stabila does a model called the LAX 50 (a cross-laser level) which is around £100 and is accurate to 0.5mm/m. This is on a par with the best spirit levels (also manufactured by Stabila).

The beauty of this kit is the tripod it comes with collapses down and can be made into a floor to ceiling pole with mount too. No need to buy separate items which can easily come to another £100.

Have just bought one so will post a quick review when it arrives (today).
