Lip on tiles

Hi all well did my first job today in tiles in the bathroom. Need some help for ideas . We have the standerd while tiles in our bathroom and wanted to replace them but because of the tiles going behind the sink and the toilet and the rad we thought that the job would we to big. So we took a row of white tiles out and put in a row of mosaic tiles. The problem we have now, is that there is a lip about 3mm on the mosaic tiles to the white tiles. Is there anything I can do to make it look smarter?

The mosaic are fatter which makes them stick out about 3-4mm

the only thing i can think of doing nasty is maybe some kind of trim

Is the lip caused by a fatter tile or by the amount of adhesive used. If the former then there's nothing you can realistically do short of digging out the wall.

you could use a listello boarder or trim, top and bottom of the mosaic...

you could use a listello boarder or trim, top and bottom of the mosaic...

People who use Sigma cutters, and people who drive Vauxhall vans, are not the sort of discerning professional that the Mitre Wiz was designed for. Those sort of people will always make do with a slap of plastic trim here or there, or a dab of silicone to hide a poorly mitred external angle....

Tony you mean put a 45 degree angle on the mosaic blocks so it's flush with the whit tiles?

looks like dark emperador and crema marfil marble mosaic border which is 10mm thick, and ceramic tiles are 6mm thick. too late to do anything

that is what i thought, but was hoping i could make something or use some sort of trim just to make it look neat but i dont think it will look that bad after i have grouted it. my fiirst tiling job as well as had to take off most of the white tiles to swap the damaged ones also had to change the bath beading as the last person went OTT with sealent and was going black

yeah i know but there is not anyroom between the tiles, my GF keeps going on about tiling over the old tiles so it would be even, but i think it would look worse because of the sink, toilet and rad

Dear Nic, you were surpose to level the space with adhesive b4 laying the mosaic. Now check if it is possible to remove the mosaic alltogether without damage, carefully clean the adhesive , take note of the thicknes mosaic, then level the space let it dry then apply the adhesive and put the mosaic.

so you say the best thing i should do is remove the mosaic tiles fill in the gap so its level with the white tiles then lay the mosaic tiles?

Dear dealercity, the mosaic is thicker than the field tile. .

the only think would help is to take mosaic off, and buy marble effect or any other border, but 6mm thick

maybe take them off and chisel the wall in 4-5 mm and put back up flush.

i have seen this in B&Q thought of looking at the 4mm trim then get a sharp stanley knife and cut the lip off that goes behind the tile and use the trim. think it might work if it fits
