Looking for a varnish to make a ceramic sign waterproof

Hey guys,

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. It's the one that seems most fitting.

I've hand painted a ceramic sign and I need to make it waterproof, what varnish can I use to do that?

hmm...would thompsons sealer do the trick since it is only a small area

Jade, I would use clear car laquer, comes in a spray can, is what it says on the tin, clear laquer and very strong, strong and waterproof enough to use on cars, brilliant stuff. Available quite cheaply in most car accessory shops. Use it in a well ventilated area, don't breathe it in and don't overspray. test a small piece of the same ceramic and paint first to check it doesn't disolve whatever pain you have used. But I have used it very successfully on all sorts of paints and materials, the only thing it definitely disolves in my experience is felt tip pen. Good luck! Can we have pictures of your project?

Looks very nice, Get a wall tile, put some of the same paint on it and do a test on it before you spray your project.
