Doing my neighbours splashback, and her window has one of those louvre blind things.

Obviously I want to tile up the sides and along the top, but the blind bracket goes up hard to the wall (plastered), therefore by tiling I will need to cut the blind down.

can this be done with ease?, will there be any things I need to be aware of, I know this isnt strictly a tiling issue.!!

it is the long fabric blind type things not the horizontal venetian blinds.

Northern bird i'm not sure what you mean by pushing it out??

the blind comes off ok, its just there is only a few mm either side at the mo, not enough to tile behind.

I can see where you are coming from murf, the only thing is the wall runs into the window on the left side of the window i.e the wall is flush at that side, no reveal as such, so trim might look a bit weird there perhaps.

Yes I do. If you botch it and then don't get paid along with a load of bad mouthing then is it worth it? Its a fitted vertical and you are going to change the dimensions, so IMHO she needs a new one unless you are a vertical blind specialist, if not then get one in to alter it. In my house I might try and sort it myself but a paying customer. . . .no way, they may not pay. Give them sound professional advice its what I would expect if I took my car in for a service. Not oh well I thought I would try this I heard it might work :huh2: not professional in my eyes

Personally, I would treat it the same as a door that needs planing when I do a floor - remove it and advise the customer that they need to get it sorted as it's not my problem (in the nicest possible way).

I would do what you have been asked, i.e. tiling and let the customer sort the rest of the issues out, unless you market yourself as a handyman that also does tiling????

i am multiskilled plasterer and tiler and cover all aspects of the consruction trade
He is a tiler not a handy man but being able to do other works to finish the job off goes a long way . less hastle for the customer and more money in your pocket:yes:

people employ me for my plastering and tiling skils and when they ask me if i know some1 that can do a specific job and i tell them i can do the sun shines out of your a--e, you have then pleased the customer and that alone will bring work in for you
