Yes, Ive only ever done it using rapid set but there are some "mud men" on here how can do this way with sand and cement. Same principal though mr t, that's why I posted it for you.

thanks bud, I think if I ever do a wet room it will be a pre former the first few times. scary thought sitting in a customers bathroom with a bucket of sand and cement hoping for the best lol. cheers

I have done a few of these types of formers on shower room blocks in the 70s while working for the MOD on a few barracks.Back then all the floors were done with either pit sand or sharp sand you would lay the screed and tile,if you laid 10 sq yd that was a good days work.

On this one the floor needed lifting 100mm for wheelchair access so I screeded the floor in S&C and dropped a former in for the shower area.
