Hi
I am tiling a conservatory floor soon and it has a manhole cover in the middle, the manhole cover has been installed ready for tiling , but I have had no experience in tiling this before. Any advice would be welcome. The tiles are 33x33cms and Iwill doing a brick bond or straight set pattern.

Thanks

Self level in the manhole lid.............or just use flexi addy...........obviously leave enuff for the actual tile and sticky

or get some cheap ***** thin tiles and tile onto them to raise level to the right height for the top of the manhole with your tile.

When setting out try and work your cuts so they dont leave silly strips or nasty cuts either outside the manhole or in it. Treat it like you would a door or window on a wall. That make sense?

One super doopa tip. Take the man hole right out to grout it and the floor and then back in after. Dont get grout down the sides between the man hole casing as this will be a nigthmare to get the manhole out as it will stick it shut.

use arditex leveller with chippings in...leave enough room for tile thickness......dave...

Nice one Holo,as he sais take tray out and grout then replace it.You can then grout up up to the tray sides ,and stanley knife it flush the following morning while it is still quite green.(the term green means that the process of curing is still active and has still got moisture content)
