Ahh you mean Mapei ecoprim Grip ! No havent used it but heard its good stuff. I think Bugs has used it many times.

Yea it's great stuff, as the guys say make sure it's had a good stir. I roller it on, may be better on walls with a mini roller.

Hi folks, used the eco prim grip today. have to say, very easy to apply and so far so good. I washed the existing tiles down with a mild detergent let them dry and just rolled away with the stuff.

I have actually used something very similar to it in the past. Think it was called Evo-Stik SHP (special hard primer). does that ring a bell with anyone?

Just out of interest has anyone ever tried to take a tile off after its set to see how well it's stuck on??

Hiya Ruari.
I first used Eco Prim to tile over floor tiles. I wouldn't usually, but it was one of those jobs.
After i rollered it on i left it overnight and even though you could scratch the Eco off, it was well stuck. I then tiled the floor.
I had to remove a tile as the kitchen cupboards changed, and boy it had stuck.! The adhesive had stuck really well to the Eco, so that had to be knocked off, and the Eco itself was welded to the tiles underneath. I couldn't scratch it at all.
So it obviously needs some curing time to reach full strength, i was well impressed with it.

Cheers Bugs. I applied the Eco yesterday and I've the weekend off so won't be tiling until Monday. Plenty of drying time there. Cheers for all the replies lads.

It is a cracking product , i have used it a few times , mainly onto Tuffdec former's for wetrooms 🙂
