A builder has a floor for me to tile:
4sqm in an ‘L’ shape bathroom. 18mm ply. No deflection. 30x30 porcelain tiles.
He says he has had problems with floors in the past so now he uses Mapetex Sel matting as an uncoupling membrane. He said use rapidset flex to stick it to the floor.
However, reading the instructions for Mapetex on the web I can find no understandable method of applying it to the floor. I’m not used to Mapei and their products.
Personally, I would have primed the floor and used Toppfix rapid flex. I suggested 6mm Hardie, but he said no.
Is Mapetex a solution to a non-existent problem?
Cheers
