hi troops. im on a job at the moment and the guy wants his Marble fireplace restored. It is Beige coloured marble and needs a bit of filling here and there between the mantelpiece and the legs.

He wants it looking glossy again as it is years old and has been maintained since before he bought the place.

It hasnt any scratches that i could see but will have closer inspection tomorrow. it is dull looking, a little dirty and maybe a little yellow sort of fading. i will supply a few pictures also.

now after reading a few posts i assume that ltp grimex is the best to use if it is scrathfree. What do i do after it is clean and old layers of sealer wax are off? cheers

as you can see in the photos the fireplace isnt in bad shape but needs a little attention in places and a brighten up. cheers

Right i would use Aqua mix Nanoscrub to clean this, and to fill the joints you need a Knife grade stukko white resin filler, you will need some diamond hand pads to get a good finish on the joints. To polish it i would use Aqua mix Renue this is a polishing cream and it it fantastic, just put it on with a bit of water as per instructions and buff it off with a terry towel.

nice 1.kool ill search for all these products and go with it. marble is unchartered for me, never laid or worked with but been trying to learn more about it incase a job comes up.
nows the time.
for my own future reference can you give me a quick lesson on why you have chosen these products. Why not an ordinary impreg sealer and gloss or wax, why the polish or stone powder for marble? and can you use this polish on other stones? also why the filler? why not grout or Silicon? hope you dont mind me picking your brain cheers

The reason i choose the products is because i use them and get great results...Renue can be used on all calcium based polished stone- Limestone, marble and Travertine...You will get a very high gloss shine with this better than any wax ( which attracts dirt and dust) or sealer. The stukko is a resin that you mix with a hardener and once dry you can polish to a shine with the diamond pads and Renue..you wont get a shine using grout or Silicon.
