I have seen alot of well laid floors rippled by poor grinding and badly polished room corners where the guys polishing just use wax instead of getting right into the corners with a smaller machine, a well laid floor makes the polishers life far easier and a well ground floor does give a better finish as the floor looks more solidSorry captain but I have to disagree. I have never met a tiler who can lay a floor completely flat. That is not a slur on you or anyone who fixes natural stone. But it is impossible to lay a large area with large format tiles completely flat. It may look flat but If I go on it with a Levighetor and a planetario head my machine will find lippage. The difference in what we do is we leave the floor so flat you cannot even see the grout lines and that is how the Monolithic look is achieved.
