Marble tiling cracks

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

Hello tiling community,
Coming here for home improvement help. We recently had an install for a marble backsplash in May-June 2020. We were overall extremely happy with the work, but in the past few months have noticed progressive cracks in the marble throughout sections of the kitchen. The cracks are in different locations on different walls, and some are in the backsplash of a peninsula.

I have attached images below. The company who did the install is a very reputable company who employs its own designers, sources its own materials and works with local contractors. We had them come out to inspect the damage, and both the installation manager and tile sourcing individual seem to want to deflect blame (this is common post install, this occurs can occur over time due to marble being natural stone and having fissures). I am trying to understand what our expectation should be regarding this backsplash as some of the cracks have enlarged and we are approaching our one year warranty. I have counted a total of 25, all of them being palpable to-the-touch defects of various sizes.

Does anyone else believe this seems abnormal? Are our expectations off? I have minimal knowledge in the field but I wonder if it could be an adhesion issue, or a tile quality issue. But what I am trying to figure out is if it’s worth the effort of pursuing them fixing this, and if so - do I settle for them replacing individual tiles (worried it will continue to happen) or do I insist they redo the job?
Thanks in advance for everyone’s input.
