Marble / travertine.

Yes, did all that, plus all the things Dilante said, still ended up with a grout bloom on them, pity there isn't a machine for buffing them off heavy duty!

Thanks guys.

Do you mean grout haze..? or has the tile surface got a whitening( bloom) finish, as in cloudy look..?

Hello Dave,

Yes, you've put it better than I did, a smoky haze is much more accurate, I'm sure if it really was grout haze it would come off easier than this!

When you say you cleaned off... did you make sure no grout haze was present before you sealed again..?

Yes, I cleaned off with a damp sponge then two goings over with the residue remover before sealing.

And you deffo buffed off with a dry cloth once fully dry..and tiles were dry before sealing..?

Must admit I didn't bother with the dry cloth, but the mosaics were dry before I sealed them.

Ok... So there is a possibility that grout residue was on the tiles and you have sealed it in..

I think you need to strip back the sealer/grout haze and start again..

Hmmm.....I was afraid I might have to! Still, its not that bad, not like its every mosaic, theres a total of 56 sheets of 144 mosaics each and I can see about 40 or so that are still hazy, I'll go and try to find some of the 'Hand Diamonds' Dilante mentioned, I'm bloody raw what with scrubbing them with scotch pads!

Thanks everyone, round the learning circle yet again!

Best regards,

Grim Smith

You can use wet and dry sand paper... in various grits.. if it is only a handful of mosaics to do..
