Marble / travertine.

You were quick! Talk about on the ball! Thanks for replying, the stuff I used was supplied by the dealer, its 'Fila' Honed/Tumbled Travertine & Marble Protector.

Thanks again for the advice, oh well, looks like I maybe didn't use the best stuff, I'll have a word next time I go to the tile dealer! Just have to keep using the elbow grease for a while, now I understand why they use grinders on marble floors to get a good surface!

Thanks again.

Is it the sealer that is showing or the grout on the face of the tile? Also is the trav tumbled or polished? It might be that you didnt wash all the grout off of the surface of the tile before sealing, or you could have sealed to early and spread the grout over the face of the tiles without realising. Its very hard to see if its washed off well enough when its wet.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply, thee mosaics are honed/tumbled.

I fixed them, then wiped off with a damp sponge, then after drying, I sealed them with Fila protector. Then I grouted them and again, sponged off as I went. Then I gave them 2 treatments with residue remover.

The mosaics are still a bit dusty looking in places and its real pig getting them any better. I was really careful to clean all the way along.

I wash stone off twice after grouting for that reason. Id grout, let it dry slightly then wash off as well as I can, leave it to dry dusty on the tile then wash off with new clean water again, let that dry and if there is still a haze on the tile id buff it off with a dry clean rag. After all that Id seal again, if poss Id seal the next day so you can see any grout left on the face. This sounds like what has happened here to me, dont see any problems with the sealer itself.

Yes, did all that, plus all the things Dilante said, still ended up with a grout bloom on them, pity there isn't a machine for buffing them off heavy duty!

Thanks guys.

There is, I think they are called hand diamonds, havnt used them myself so I will let some1 else give you the details.
