Why anyone would want to put wood of any form in a moisture sensitive area is beyond me,,,,Come on guys drag your self out the dark ages and use better products. Better products that dont need specialised adhesives etc.

are you reffering to me?

Personaly If someone had sheeted out a wall (or any other area) in MDFprior to me tiling they would get told to take it down and sheet with a more suitable material or I would be redajusting my quote based on me ripping it down and re-sheating myself.

I am referring to the practice of using wood in moisture sensitive areas.

well just to clarify to you and everyone else reading these threads I was correcting someone who suggested that mdf was used more in commercial situations than it is in dommestic. I am not one of the guys who uses or reccomends using mdf as a substrate to tile to in any area wet or dry!

Glad to hear it

i think the main issue here is it is not a good substrate to tile over yes you can stick to it the same as floorboards but /// doesn't matter who installed it once you tile over it you have accepted it as your problem (unless stated in written form) so if it fails for any reason you will be held responsible be warned/////:8:
