what were they Doug?

anyway, it isn't asphalt. it's a damp proof membrane. Barratts say they wouldn't lay anything like that in modern developments, but having nosed thru the windows of a house round the corner got repossessed that has the same black membrane.

does that answer it for you?

Just seen this thread. I just wanted to let you know even thought minnie is how can I put this without seeming disrespectful....

....persistant. She is in my eyes a star. She spent about 2 hours with me one night after 1am proof reading my website. She corrected my grammer and spelling. gave me loads of lessons on puntuality. (not learnt but thats my bad!) Really nice thing to do and today I got a £200 splash back off the back of my website alone. The customer said they didn't ask any others to quote. Mad but I'm pleased!

So minnie rocks!
