mixing tiles

Hi all i have a job next week and customer is mixing 4 shades of tile but doesnt have a clue how she would like them to be spaced,and just wondered if anyone had a set formula for mixing tiles or just lay them out and see what works best.any help would be great.

hi pal make 4 level stacks of tiles and try distribute them evenly throughout the job and u shouldnt end up with 2 many colours repeating themselves

i did some not so long ago and layed them out on the worksurface and then did some fine tuning before i went onto the wall. it felt hard to me not doing it in a pattern and spent ages moving the little blighters around trying to make it look random!( i also got the customer to double check too! not that im implying that they were fussy but :smilewinkgrin

I personally take approx 5 out of each box then you have never got more ratio of a particular colour. If that makes sense (I know what I'm on about):8:

I know what your saying Dean, if use to many the mix may veer to a couple of colours rather than balancing it out
