As some know i have recently started on the sites but i still have some domestic jobs to complete that i had booked in.
One of the jobs i am thinking of giving a wide berth, may be more trouble than its worth.

Firstly i went and priced up the job about 2 months ago, customer got back to me around 3 weeks later saying she may want me to do the work but not decided yet, i know she had over 10 other quotes in that time. After constant calls and emails from her asking questions such as what brand adhesives will be used? what sealer?, what grout?, what size trowel is going to be used to lay?! she finally said she wants me to do the work but could she get some references. Telephoned about 6 customers i had worked for in the past and all were happy for me to pass on there numbers to her so she can clarify the work i had done.
She didn't just call the people, she visited all 6 houses to inspect the work!
Then got back to me saying she is happy and would like a date for me to start the work for her, as long as i pop to the tile shop she is getting the tiles from so i can see exacly the finish she wants done.

And this massive job that requires all this research etc?
12sqm of porcelain on a kitchen floor!

Got a feeling this could be a customer stood over my shoulder all day while i lay.

No probs mat...all in the life of a tiler............🙂...

You just say YES! madam.. certainly madam....3 bags full madam.....then do the job and get another recommend for the future.........

she's certainly thorough m8....., think your right about hanging over your shoulder m8....never know she might offer you some help thinking she knows better...

Bit of a compliment really Penno. Having gone to all that trouble, had other quotes and sussed out your work, she decided you were the man for the job. Big compliment that mate.

I'd be giving that one a wide berth,I would be pi*?*ed off if she went round ALL 6 houses, giving old customers a call is one thing but turning up at their house I think is a bit of an intrusion.

Agree with Ivegottile, For 12m2 of tiling lucky it was,nt a big job, could,nt be a***d

Penno do the job mate,

However I know where you are coming from but in this case i think grumpy has a very good point. She has inspected your work and is very happy with it. This will be benificial to you and a good challenge.
