what in the hell!..how did u manage a 5a @ that price!..thats rhetorical:):smilewinkgrin:..I follow your reasoning..and yes im kinda need 1 badly but don t want to be silly over it...I ve been following this tileforum for a few weeks now ...due to my search for a cutter...ive always loved tiling and seem to be doin alot of it lately..im a skilled carpenter/multi trader mostly..my point is i love good tools...without opening another debate which im sure youve commented on,.could u tell me (in your opinion)..are sigmas alot better than montolit..or is there not much in it...that id notice...thankoyu for your time

The real difference in my opinion between the Sigma and Monty is that the Sigma has less parts to break. My Sigma is 9 years old and I have just refurbed it with a few new parts, I also have a new one (the £80 one) In the store just in case......I know i wont need it though :oops:
Both cutters do the same thing so I guess its personal preference. Sigma tend to be more common than Monty`s so parts are easier to obtain. A lot of tilers have various cutters for different jobs where as I use my Sigma 5A for 99% of the jobs I do.

I actually got it on Ebay for £100 but when it arrived the marker guide was missing so he refunded £20.
I have an Ebay search set up so I get notified when items with certain names become available. I think I bought it on a "Buy it now" price within minutes of it being advertised.

im not keen on rubi's ie...twin rail!....the sigma im interested in is the 2c3 or 2d3 both are push..tecnica range....im kinda undecided but its getting close..as i have to purchase one a.s.a.p and live with the choice ive made..we cant have them all can we!..lol


You cant grumble at £190 for a good cutter.
Ditto what Nybor says, go for the 2D3, 630mmm cut :thumbsup:
