Mosaics on floorhelp pls

Hi All

I'm going to be laying some original style moonbeam penny round mosaic tiles onto a over boarded ply bathroom floor, at the moment the floor is normal floor boards and it is solid so will be super solid once plyed.

I will be using granfix mosaic fix white adhesive. This is the first time I've fixed a mosaic floor although I have done mosaics on walls before, so I have a couple of questions.

What size trowel should I use for mosaics on the floor, usually For floors I use the half round solid bed trowels, but I can't seem to find a small half round trowel for mosaics. Should I use a 4mm square notched trowel, my normal 3mm square notched trowel would be too small for floors surly?

your tile is 6.35 mm deep, i would go for the 4mm trowel

So a 4mm square notched not a solid bed one?

When I've done mosaics on walls using a 3mm square notched trowel the mosaics seem to have total adhesive coverage on them anyway.

they will get total coverage anyway when you push them down with grout float

3mm -4mm would be fine imo

You should be fine with a 4mm as long as the floor is nice and flat. Personally I would go for a cement backer board rather than ply.
