I've now got my eye on a Cannondale - and this particular bike was one of the last batch to ever be handmade in the USA before manufacture was moved to Taiwan:yikes:

Kev, this thing with Chinese manufacturing has gotten so stupid that I actually am a bit relieved when I see "made in Tawain" on a tool or product.:mad2:

What I don't get is that I know so many people (I'm one of them) that have no problem paying higher prices for tools and other items that say "made in USA/Germany/United Kingdom/Sweden" etc etc. We know these countries have a tradition of high quality manufacturing. The demand is there for quality tools and products.

THose who share my frame of mind about this must be greatly outnumbered however, because the deluge of Chinese junk continues.:incazzato::mad2:

I brought this Carrera at Halfords..seems a good bike for a starter bike. Changed the tyres to intermediate tyres.

Rocky Mountain are a great make for sure.Cannondale are tops too Kev so your on the right track.go out and buy a copy of 'what mountain bike' and you'll see the lot including the latest.

i built this about ten years ago. its a bit battered now but my lad takes it out more than i do cost me £2500.00

Just bought this....
