My bad again, I set the half-life for searches to 700 days and we've searched A LOT on here and the searches are being saved so it can work out what's searched for a lot to improve those results. The half-life should be about 90 days usually.

I've reduced it and recompiled the search index. It'll do for now but tomorrow I'll need to configure it properly. It might not work right today. But we're online at least. I couldn't get to a computer and can't login the server stuff using a browser on a phone.

Would have been fixed in seconds if I could.

Really need to invest in a chromebook or something small to carry around with me.

A bit more info about a permanent fix is here: Plumbing forum keeps knocking us offline - https://www.tilersforums.com/threads/plumbing-forum-keeps-knocking-us-offline.89284/#post-952277

We're just simply huge now and all three forums are killing the processors when I set them up the way I want.

Thanks to those that subscribe to the forums (with and without tags) I can do that now. So thanks peeps for doing that. You're keeping us online directly there, not just like the sponsors who kinda pay my wage.

Software and hardware will always cost us more every time we upgrade. Cores and chipsets have maxed out in their size reduction. There's a name for it. They halved each year which meant they halved in price, or doubled in quality for the same price. Until it hits a point. The point is named after the guy who came up with it, and we passed that point with chips I think last year.

Batteries are what's getting smaller or more powerful now but they're hitting the point too. Elon Musk says we need get more clever with them. Store more power locally. So use lots of big batteries.

Had a look, £70,000 lol - Don't think we'll manage that with subscriptions just yet.

I literally do that. The PHP processes are stuck high because it's trying to process searches. So I have to turn it off (suspend the site) and then back on lol

Then I quickly have to disable the searches else it would have done it again.

The old turn it off and on against still works on high end servers lol
