My first job

I ended up getting invited back to a mates house with his Dad, whom I'd never met before. You know how the grilling goes, where you from, what do you do!!!

He got me onto his expensive whisky's which I couldnt stand lol. Anyhow, a few days later me mate rang me up and asked me to go and look at the downstairs bathroom !

Without getting anyone else in to do it I was given the job. Full refit of the bathroom and suite.

To cut a long story short, I worked yesterday from 12 til 10 and at 8 and 9 I was brought a can of the finest lager. His Dad got sick of entertaining guests at his bbq so came and chatted to me from 8 onwards. When I had packed up I was given a whisky, this time with water and it went down a treat.

Before we knew it we had drank a lil too much and as their younger son was having a few mates round for all night COD4 and Bejing Games on the Xbox. I was invited to stay which I accepted as I don'd drink drive(who would thats S/E) then the jokes came about me starting the walls at 6am.

Anywho, its my first job, its brickbond (EEEK), screeding, tanking, floor, etc etc.

Its all going swimmingly well, no lipage so far, level everywhere and he has turned around tonight and asked me to turn his ensuite into a wet room!!!

Looking good but what was the whisky....

The whisky was the only malt made on the isle of sky, Talisker. The holes at the back were made with 365 drills, and no that is not backing paper, its plaster and filled holes. I will admit to there being a few bits of paper on the wall however they are getting scraped off as I go. :joker:

ps I know its also a shame the customer wanted different, yes almost identical tiles fot the floor. With the grout lines not continuing it actually agitates me.

I made the schoolboy error of ivory. 3 years later. Yuk!

Contemplating regrouting but know its a painful job.

Just use a grout cleaner rich......works wonders you know....

I haven't grouted yet as the customer wants pebble grout for the floor and walls.

I told her they will get dirty and will need cleaned with the above mentioned grout cleaner.

Dont worry Richard, I though it had been grey grouted as well. :lol:
