Good result and your right, you can't take the battery out. Unfortunately if your phone is still under the Apple warranty, it will now be void, as the water sensors will have been activated.

I dropped my iphone4 last week,oops.
Luckily not too far and the cover i have on it worked a treat. No ill effects.

My friend did this and dropped it in the sink. She sent it back ad they caled her up and pretty much said nice try and the sensors had gone on hers too

wasnt there something on here a while back about putting in a bowl of rice to dry it out............either that or im hungry and thinking about food again.

A friend of mine tried this after his son tossed the IPhone in the toilet. After a couple of days in the rice-the phone worked fine.

Thanks for that, Dan. Obvious when you think of it. I know a plumber keeps his in a sealed poly bag for these very incidents. Apparently it works :lol: I think there is a gap in the market here

They are aready on the market mate, I had one when I had my boat, an air tight cover that also floats

That strip is just inside the 3.5 jack, well they are in the 3G and 3GS which turns red when activated although many were activated purely from being in in peoples pockets which voided a lot of warranties. Not sure if they moved it on the Iphone4 because it was a stupid place to put it
