Natural slate

Hi all,
Its been ages since i last posted but you always give me the best information!
Im quoting a job up on Monday and even though ive been tiling for 4 years, its my first slate job.
Any pointers i should remember when quoting this one would be much appreciated. i.e sealer / adhesive (im guessing grey flexi?)and of course £££?

joel think the subfloor first is it deflection free no bounce

Check the calibration of the slate, ie, is it a consistent thickness or thin, medium, thick. This will make a big difference to the preparation for laying it.

also consider you may need noggings in the joists ???is it floor boards or cement screed

sealer can be expensive and take a good look at a few boxes to check for quality as you get some poor grades like one i did from b & q. the tiles ranged from 4mm to 20 mm !! and i wouldn't like to walk on them with bare feet! as for prices we're not allowed to discuss on the open forum

Sort the Slate into even thicknesses if it's Natural, Un-Calibrated? You want the Thinner pieces for your cuts around the edges then it won't burn your diamond blades out so quick! A standard Slate Sealer for before and after unless looking for a particular finish? Grey Flexi as always with a good Flexi Grout! As for Money it's hard to call, I mean I average at about £75 per Square Metre but I do a lot of work in and around London so I'd say you need to guage your Price on what area you're in though obviously you want to charge more than Ceramic.....
