Need to tape hardi floor?

Hi there,

I've got 6mm Hardi laid on my bathroom floor (screwed and bedded in Keraquick white over 18mm WBP) and I'm about to prime with Primer G before laying my Devi heating mat and levelling with ultraplan renovation. Do I need to tape the joints in this situation? Seems a bit like overkill as it will be covered with the SLC?

Hardi do say to strengthen the joints with each gap covered with alkali-resistant mesh tape.

I just do it as i always have.. over kill i suppose it better than failure.

why is that David? if it tips the ph balance at plus/ minus 7 it's either acid or alkali

Yes but cement creates heat higher than 7.. hence the alkali resistance.. ffs why are we doing this at 1 am :lol:
