New screed

Hello, just wondering how long I have to wait until I can tile on top of new screed?

As above, depending on the type of screed ie. sand and cement/ anhydrite a rough guide would be 1mm per day up to 40mm then 2 days per mm after that. We would need more info on the screed though.

To be honest I was at work when they did the job but my wife says they (the council)were mixing sand and cement outside so I guess it's a concrete mix and she reckons they've only gone about 30mm deep and the standard of finish isn't the best either.

Hi mark, 30mm is not deep enough for semi-dry mix, if it is slurry bonded to the sub-floor 40mm is minimum depth, better still 65mm/70mm imo sorry.

at that depth it will not be strong enough imo , and knowing how council work doubt is is bonded or fibre reinforced
