New to Forum.......

Hello everybody,just joined forum, and wanted to say hello.
I'm a complete "beginner" at tiling and have joined to pick up, as many tips, and info as I can.....
as I'm just finished plasterboarding the bathroom.... in preperation, of tiling all 4 walls, removed, the bath,
replacing it with a shower tray, and cubicle, double glazed window, electric heating, extraction, new toilet,
wash basin, smaller dooor/frame etc, etc.....so will probably be asking loads of questions over the next week, about all sorts of tiling issues....

question no1 is.... can I tile directly onto plasterboard, if so do I need to "prep" it first, in any way, or is it better/stronger to have it skimmed ?

do not skim it plasterboard can hold more weight than a skim, you will need to prime it and tank any wet areas like shower it is the green plasterboard you have used ?

No not at all, as previously mentioned, just make sure you tank any wet areas.

The green stuff its supposed to be moisture resistant but you should be fine if you tank even if you would of used the green stuff you would still have to tank.
