Newbee with a few Wet Room Questions

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Looks like I will go for the Impey option, tho not cheap it seems to be the most straight forward to fit.

Went to the tile shop today to look at some travertine tiles, guy says they are heavy tiles and if fitting to a stud wall they recomend re inforcing the wall !

Anyone got any experience of this ? Seems a bit OTT to me but then again I am fairly new to this game :stupid:

Also would the tiles drag off the tanking membrane?

Depends what you are tiling onto rich....the membranes can only hold as much weight as the substrate...so apply the membrane with rapidsetting adhesive then you can tile onto it quicker.....as for weight of the tiles..if they are 600x400 then you might be pushing it over the weight limits.....for standard substrates....maybe a backerboard will be better....( screwed and plugged will hold upto 50kg)
