Hi everyone

Since posting my introduction last week i have been trawling through all the posts starting at the back so still a long way to go!

I have a couple of questions im sure you guys will be able to answer.

Can someone explain what single part and two part adhesives are?

When talking about a tile staff or gauging rod, is that just a length of 2" x 1" with several marks of the tiles width on it, or is there a special tool?

Hi Colin,
Single part adhesive is usually powder that will be mixed with water.
Two part will be a powder that will be mixed with the appropriate liquid additive supplied ( to give different properties ie. more flexibility etc.)
these are usually designed and suited to varying applications ..so check which before you use!
As for a gauging stick..yep you got it, just made up usually on the job (dependent on size of tiles) just the mark of the tile plus your joint on the stick to give you an easier guide for setting out..come in very handy on large floors going through different rooms etc.

ditto above,buy the packs of strapping from b&spew,6X1.8m lengths for about £3/4 come in handy then nothing lost if you throw them away
